Group Absence Wellbeing & Safety Advisor
Job description
Help us build a healthy, safe, and sustainable workplace across HVEG Group.
How do you shift from managing current absence cases to actively preventing future ones? And how do you shape HR policies that truly work across diverse business units, each with its own day-to-day practice?
As a Group Absence Wellbeing & Safety Advisor within Group HR, you’ll have the room to bridge exactly that gap. You will manage complex absence and case management matters, but your focus will also extend further – always looking at the bigger picture. What do our absence metrics tell us? Where can we drive prevention and sustainable employability? And what do managers and employees need to ensure a healthy and safe work environment?
While based in Leusden, your scope extends much further. You will regularly visit our various business units and locations across the Netherlands, keeping you closely connected to daily operations while driving a unified strategy from within Group HR.
What will you do?
No two locations or absence cases are the same. That is why this role seamlessly combines advisory work, case management, prevention, and policy development. You step in when complex absence issues arise, while continuously identifying opportunities for organisational improvement and prevention.
You act as an expert sparring partner for managers and HR colleagues, collaborating closely with our occupational health service, occupational physicians, prevention officers, and other specialists. At the same time, you look across our various business units to identify emerging trends, risks, and opportunities, translating these insights into our Group-wide policies.
Your key responsibilities as a Group Absence Wellbeing & Safety Advisor:
- Absence & case management: Advising managers and HR colleagues on complex, long-term absence and reintegration cases, ensuring full compliance with the Dutch Sickness and Reintegration Act (Wet verbetering poortwachter) and maintaining a rigorous, high-quality process.
- Policy & professionalisation: Developing and updating Group-wide policies on absence management, wellbeing, prevention, and occupational safety, translating relevant legislation into practical, workable approaches.
- Prevention & sustainable employability: Analysing absence and safety data to identify trends, translating these insights into preventive actions, targeted interventions, and initiatives that promote long-term employability.
- Health & safety: Coordinating and following up on Risk Assessment and Evaluation reports (RI&E), collaborating with our prevention officers, and driving the further development of our policies on occupational safety and in-house emergency response (Bedrijfshulpverlening / BHV).
- Advising & connecting: Visiting our various locations to stay attuned to local developments, seamlessly aligning these insights with our collective strategy at Group HR.
- Knowledge sharing: Developing practical tools, training sessions, and initiatives that empower managers and employees to navigate absence, prevention, wellbeing, and occupational safety matters effectively.
- This means that you will not merely address day-to-day operational needs, but actively help shape how we prevent absence and foster a healthy, sustainably employable workforce across HVEG Group.
What do we offer you?
You will take on an autonomous role within Group HR as a Group Absence Wellbeing & Safety Advisor, acting as both a subject matter expert and a trusted advisor. While a solid foundation is already in place, you will have ample room to build and shape our approach — not only refining our absence and case management processes, but actively driving the shift towards prevention, sustainable employability, and occupational safety.
Working across various HVEG companies and locations ensures your role remains dynamic, offering you the opportunity to apply your expertise broadly across the Group.
Additionally, we offer:
- A gross monthly salary based on scale 8 of the HVEG job and salary structure, ranging from €4,212.45 to €6,017.49 (full-time), depending on your experience and expertise. For a senior-level placement, scale 9 applies;
- A 32-hour workweek;
- A company car (or travel arrangement), laptop, and mobile phone;
- 8% holiday allowance, 25 vacation days, plus 3 additional HVEG days;
- A solid pension scheme;
- Continuous development opportunities via the HVEG Academy;
- A 30% employee discount on our brands as well as access to our annual sample sales;
- Access to OpenUp for mental wellbeing, coaching, and personal development;
- Monthly in-office massages;
- Subsidised gym membership via Corporate Fitness Netherlands (Bedrijfsfitness Nederland);
- Discounted collective health insurance;
- Prescription eyewear allowance (via Bril van de Zaak);
- Summer Hours scheme in June, July, and August.
What you bring to the role
You do not need to focus solely on case management. We are specifically looking for someone who looks beyond individual absence cases and enjoys translating organisational signals into strategic advice, prevention, and policy.
You navigate effortlessly between different locations, managers, and HR colleagues, knowing when to advise, ask further questions, or provide direction.
Additionally, you have:
- A Bachelor’s degree level (HBO) of working and thinking, preferably in HRM, occupational health, or a related field;
- Relevant experience as an HR Advisor, Absence Case Manager, Absence Advisor, or within a comparable area of expertise;
- Up-to-date knowledge of absence management, reintegration, and the Sickness and Reintegration Act (Wet verbetering poortwachter);
- Sound knowledge of working conditions, occupational safety, prevention, and sustainable employability;
- A Registered Case Management Specialist qualification (CROV-registration) or equivalent proven expertise is preferred;
- Willingness to travel regularly to our various locations across the Netherlands.
Interested?
Are you experienced in absence and case management, but also eager to apply your expertise on a broader scale? In this Group role as a Group Absence Wellbeing & Safety Advisor, you will have the opportunity to not only address individual cases, but also actively shape how we approach prevention, wellbeing, sustainable employability, and occupational safety across HVEG Group. If so, we would love to hear from you. Apply via solliciteren@hvegfashiongroup.com, contact Arianne at +31 6 10230958, or simply send a WhatsApp message if that’s easier. I’m happy to answer any questions you may have.
